Strategic planning is a roadmap that helps an organization to achieve its goals, using resources effectively. First, management must understand its status, as related to internal and external forces. Then, ACS helps with setting the strategic direction, such as mission statements or restructure. Finally, an action plan (e.g., budget and work plan) can be created to reach the goals.
